PFG was named one of Europe’s Climate Leaders (Europe’s Climate Leaders 2022: interactive listing | Financial Times (ft.com)) during 2022. An independent study carried out by the Financial Times and Statista named PFG in the list of companies across Europe that have shown the highest reduction of their carbon emission intensity between 2016 and 2021.

The study identified that our Scope 1 and 2 emissions have reduced by 14.6%, and our total core carbon emissions have reduced by 67% over the same period, putting us in the top 70 companies in Europe for having reduced our overall carbon emissions over the past 5 years.

In addition to this analysis, Newsweek has identified PFG as being amongst the World’s most socially responsible banks during 2022 (World's Most Socially Responsible Banks 2022 (newsweek.com)). We ranked 125th in the overall ranking (our of 750 banks from across 35 countries around the world) and scored an incredible 82 on social concerns, making us the top 49th bank based on social concerns alone. This score puts us in the top 20% of socially responsible banks in the world, according to Newsweek. The analysis takes into account of how transparent we are when it comes to disclosing environmental, social and governance (ESG) information, how we use our resources, and how we treat our customers and colleagues amongst many other contributing factors.

“I’m delighted to see PFG be recognised in these socially responsible rankings. We should all be very proud of how far we have come in managing and reporting our ESG performance - it is so important that we continue to manage these issues effectively. We will continue to follow our Purpose, share our ESG successes and I hope to see our business mentioned again and again in such rankings in the years to come.” Malcolm Le May, CEO
