PFG’s commitments to the environmental, social and governance (ESG) agenda have been recognised this week. The S&P Dow Jones Indices, a leading provider of financial market indices, announced the results of the 2022 Dow Jones Sustainability Indices review, and we’re pleased to say that PFG is included in the Dow Jones Sustainability Europe Indices (DJSI Europe). It comes in the same week that the Group’s gained a CPD rating of B-.

Inclusion in the DJSI Europe means that PFG is in the top 20% of the largest 600 European companies in the S&P Global Bond Market Index based on long-term economic, environmental and social criteria.

Rob Lawson, Head of Sustainability, Provident Financial plc commented:

We’re proud to continue to be included in the DJSI Europe. Our inclusion in this prestigious index reflects our longstanding commitment to provide responsible and sustainable products and services which help put people on a path to a better everyday life, while also championing equality, diversity and inclusion, and providing our colleagues with a working environment that is healthy, safe and meritocratic; treating our suppliers fairly; supporting the communities we serve to thrive; and supporting the UK transition to a cleaner, net-zero economy. It’s come at the same time as we’ve received our CDP  (Carbon Disclosure Project) rating of B-, as it was last year, meaning we’ve maintained our climate change risk management efforts throughout 2022.
