Provident Financial plc, the leading UK non-standard lender, is today hosting an Investor Day at its subsidiary Vanquis Bank’s contact centre in Chatham.

The content of the Investor Day is solely focussed on Vanquis Bank and the presentation slides will be available on the group’s website www.providentfinancial.com later today.

Provident Financial plc is also pleased to announce the appointment of Iain Cornish to the Board of Vanquis Bank Limited as an independent non-executive Director with effect from 1 January 2012*.

Iain has significant board and senior management experience and is currently Chief Executive of the Yorkshire Building Society. He has held a number of senior management positions since joining the Society in 1992 and was appointed Chief Executive in July 2003. Iain announced his resignation as Chief Executive of the Society in February 2011 and is due to step down by the end of the year. He is also an independent non-executive Director of St James's Place plc and served as a member of the FSA Practitioner Panel from 2007 to 2011, becoming Chairman in 2009.
