The 2010 editions of the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes (DJSI) were published on 9th September 2010, and Provident Financial has again been included in the Dow Jones Sustainability World Index (DJSI World) and Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Europe Index (DJSI Europe, formerly the Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Index) for the sixth year running. Provident achieved an overall score of 59% - 21% higher than the average score of other companies from the financial services sector.

The DJSI World index includes the top 10% of the world’s largest 2500 companies in terms of combining financial profitability with awareness and management of social, environmental and ethical issues. DJSI Europe captures the top 20% in terms of sustainability of the biggest 600 companies in Europe, and Provident’s inclusion indicates that it is at the leading edge of sustainable development issues in Europe.
